Pensive Terrain (A triptych)

$180.00

Size (h w d): 10 x 8 in

  • Medium: Oil paint with cold wax on paper, oil pastel and charcoal

  • Subject Matter: Abstract

  • Type: Work on Paper

The triptych came as a result of many layers of oil paint mixed with cold wax medium. I used palette knives and scrapers to apply the paint to the paper. I got lost in the process of applying the thick paint. The process invited me into a pensive state as I considered the earthy colors and how they mixed with each other on the substrate. After some time, I realized that the meditative application of paint resulted in beautiful abstract landscapes. They invited me in to explore the terrain...the Pensive Terrain.
